Thanks, I have been waiting for new version for a while, By the way why
Compiere use salesforce.com

It is disappointing to hear that Compiere have chosen to go down the path of holding back even more proprietary extensions and not all of them are of interest to larger enterprises.

This is especially so considering that another associated organisation Pentaho now look to be releasing more of their proprietary extensions to open source (i.e. heading in the opposite direction).

It will cause us to reassess our commitment to continuing to look at implementing Compiere (yes, we pay for support and were planning on submitting extensions to the product) and we will once again take a closer look at Adempiere.

I understand the need to make money from your venture but I think you have the wrong business model - but that is your choice. I think the more successful model is to have an integrated active community contributions and Compiere performing the role of providing professional project management, implementations and support (i.e. to stabilise the community version for suitable use).

Very sad news for Compiere.

Allan,
Thank you for sharing your perspective on Compiere's business strategy.

As we listen to customers and partners about their plans for Compiere, it became clear that our broad community is no longer served by a single product line.

We remain committed to being the leader for open source ERP and CRM. Compiere, Inc. continues to invest heavily in creating open source products and nurturing an open source community around Compiere. The proof is clear when you examine the functionality and stability of Compiere Community Edition and Standard Edition. The vast majority of the Compiere 3.0 advantages are available through open source.
